Model Number: ed2fhexmtoo   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: 1 - 5 years   

whirlpool ice maker model # ed2fhexmt00 making clicking sound, ice is frozen in tray but the little arms are not pushing it out, any ideas??

The problem could be a bad mold heater or a bad motor.

You can buy and replace them separate but I would recommend to replace the whole ice maker.

It is more reliable, easy and cost almost the same.

- The part number for the mold assembly is AP3136288

- The part number for the motor is AP4310544

- The part number for the ice maker is AP2984633

Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool refrigerator Model ED2FHEXMT00

When the new ice maker aforementioned is in place, where do you set the rotor or "teeth"...at the two o'clock position? Does it matter...? Is there a re-boot process?

You do not have to set anything, just plug it in. It should start to work as soon it cools down.
