Hi, It seems this Maytag Refrigerator has become notorious with this leaking problem onto the bottom of the refrigerator. I've been first using paper towels to keep the water from draining out onto the floor and now I use a hand towel folded flat and with the bins out slightly, I stuff it under both vegetable bins at the bottom and it soaks up the water and I remove the towel every 3 to 4 days by putting a plastic bag flat on the floor and pulling out the towel then taking it right to the washing machine and replace it with a clean one. I would like some kind of diagram or instructions that a 69 year old women can follow to clean out the drain and resolve the problem. Recently, I removed all the food from the refrigerator and let the block of ice at the back around the back wall bracket defrost and cleaned it all out. Leaving enough free space at the back of the refrigerator has solved the icing problem but I think the drain needs to be unblocked and from what I've read here, it starts in the freezer and I have to do the repair and unblocking so I would appreciate some help... Thank you. nanlie:confused:

OK nanlie, here's the easiest way; You were on the track just not enough time. Unplug the machine and leave the freezer door open for a full 24 hours. 90% of the time that's enough to clean it out also. Or, you can take the back wall inside the freezer off and use a hair dryer to defrost the drain hole directly below the evaporator in the center. Then run very hot water through it to clean it out. rickgburton attached the following image(s):
