purchased an Overload/PTC because of an electrical burning smell. Pulled off the old one and replaced with a new one (WR09X10107). The old one had burn maks on it. However, when I replaced it and plugged the refrigerator back in, the fan did not start up again. When I reinstalled the burned one, the fan did click on. Any suggestions as to what might be the problem would be appreciated.

The power from the start device may also go to the condensing fan motor. You may have left this wire off.

Thank you for the reply. There were only two wires, a black wire and an orange wire. I plugged the black into the slot next to a blue dot (saw this in another post) and the orange in the slot with the number "2" next to it. Otherwise, there were no other wires. The overload plugs into a three prong. I called APP and they are sending a replacement. However, I think it would be unlikely the replacement part was bad. Any other thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

The start device has nothing to do with the power to the condensing fan motor. I would check the wiring to the condensing motor, something is not wired up right when you use the old start device.
