Model Number: 106 9515510 Brand: Kenmore Age: More than 10 years
Well to start I am new on here and I read a couple of posts kinda like mine but I want to be sure on it and find out if there are ways to test certain things.
I have a kenmore side by side that since my flooring was replaced in my house and it got moved some the ice maker tube keeps freezing. The in line filter also clogged up right after the flooring was done and I removed it but I am still having issues. The water valve was replaced about a year ago and seems to be working fine. I can take the water line loose and it doesn't drip any water and when it isn't frozen it fills the ice tray correctly. I know I now need to replace the tube itself since I was melting the ice with a heat gun last time and got to close and melted the filler tube. My question is what else could be causeing this issue? I have turned down the temp controls 2 times now and it still does it. They have been on 4 which is half way for several years and now I have them to about 2.5. Could it be a thermostat? Is there a way to test it if it could be? Thanks for any help in advance. Ads By Google Related Models |

Would it be the problem even though it doesnt seem to drip even a drop with it disconnected from the fill tube? I had it disconnected for a full day and didn't get a drop in the floor. I was trying to see if that was the issue even though the valve is only about a year old that is on it. The first valve made it about 15 years or so. This would be my 3rd valve since if I replace it again. They seem to last less time each time the second only got about 4 years now this one only a year. What would cause them to keep going bad so fast?

Hi.
According to the info you provided it's got to be the water valve. Simon.
