We just replaced the icemaker. The other one started making icicles and then quit making ice altogether, just filled the plastic bin with water.

This one came from Lowes, is brand new, and it started out making icicles. It is still making ice and the ice looks normal.

What do we need to do to stop the icicles.

Now it's not making ice at all. This thing is less than a week old. Anyone?

Very likely the problem is a bad water inlet valve. What is the complete model number of the refrigerator?

Gene.
