I started hearing a noise coming from behind my refridgerator. The freezer and fridge would not cool intermittantly. I have replaced the defrost thermostat, the compressor start relay and the capacitor. I am still having the same problem, I was wondering now if it is in fact the compressor that is bad. Thanks for any feedback.

What kind of noise?

How intermittent is intermittent?
What is running and what is not?
Is the compressor running? You can usually hear it but should also be able to feel it vibrating and it should be warm.
Also is it cycling or on all the time?
Is the condenser/compressor fan running?
Does the evaporator/freezer run?
Does it just start working again or do you have to do something to it to get it running?

Was there any specific reason why you replaced the above or did you just feel they were the most likely cause?
