icemaker worked fine for 8 years then supply line froze just inside rear of cabinet. Took it apart, thawed line ,worked for one cycle then froze again. Removed water line from back of cabinet, forced icemaker to cycle and water came out and stopped with click from valve-no dripping or constant running. Tested valve and it has about 500 ohms resistance. There has been leakage from the connection of line to connector that runs into rear of cabinet-appears that tube freezes then more water tries to get in but nowhere to go. Do the valves fail and work on and off?

Replace the water valve and you'll be good to go.
