Our ice maker will occasionally make a grinding sound. I open the door and break the arm loose from the ice and the sound stops. Now it makes that sound all the time, even when the arm isn't stuck. Any idea what the problem is?

The Whirlpool modular icemakers have allways had problems with mold heater connection failures. The mold heater must heat the mold prior to ice ejection.

So do I need a new ice maker or is it another part that can be repaired?
