Model Number: MZD2766GEW Brand: Maytag Age: 5 - 10 years
Hi,
Looking for some help. I have a Maytag MZD2766GEW which is not defrosting on its own. I was able to locate the adaptive control board and it does not have the test pin to force a defrost. I found online that I could force a defrost by cycling the fridge on and off with the controls. I was able to do this, it took two forced defrosts to remove all of the frost. I am not sure if this means the board is bad or good. We may have had this replaced once a few years ago. The coils iced over and eventually froze the fan and it stopped cooling. The repair guy replaced the fan and I believe a board of some type. The defrost heater/switch seems to be one assembly with a three prong plug. I tested continuity through each pair of the plug and received readings on some but not all. Couple of questions 1. If I can start a manual defrost, does this mean the board is good or bad? 2. Which pairs of plugs on the heater/switch test which item? I greatly appreciate any help and guidance. Matt. Ads By Google Related Models |
