My thermostat went out on my whirlpool side by side refrigerator/freezer so I ordered another. My question is the old thermostat has a clear rubber or plastic tube around the sensing element all the way from the control panel to the tip of the t-stat under the cover around the air vent to the freezer. The New T-Stat doesn't have the outer tube on it, should I remove the tube from the old one and put on the new T-Stat or not required. Will this affect the operation of the T-Stat or not? Thanks for the answers.

Hi.
Use the old sleeve, that will preserve the thermostat from damage.
Simon.
