Freezer powers on then off
Brand: Frigidaire Age: 5 - 10 years
We lost power this morning. It has come back on, but now the freezer won't stay on. It's a Frigidare upright with an Embracco EM 45HNR compressor. The compressor cilcks on, then a few seconds later clicks off. We put in an automatic generator and one of the reasons was to keep our frozen food good. Is there anything we can do?

The compressor was really hot to touch. I read online this could be because it was turning on and off repeatedly. I unplugged the freezer for an hour until the compressor was not so hot. It's been running ok for 5 minutes since I plugged it back in. Could it really be that easy? I just had to let the compresor cool off? I'll keep watching it.
