Model Number: 106.9542881 Brand: Kenmore Age: More than 10 years
we had problems with our refridge not staying cool and the freezer seemed to be too cold. i replaced the magnetic door seals and they don't seal properly. they were folded in the shipping box and there are a few "kinks". is there a trick to flattening them out or will they adjust over time? i can feel cool air coming from both compartments and the magnetic contact is awfully weak. any ideas?

They will kinda adjust over time but you have to get them close. The trick is to completely submerge the gasket in hot water before you install it. Then use a hair dryer to shape the gasket after it is on. Once you get it sealing properly rub a thin film of Vaseline along the entire gasket. Hope this helps! Appliance Parts Installation Tips
