under ice box and under ice tray gets ice Cycles
NEW POST
Thank you for your Reply, but the ice tray is not leaking. After drying everything out it will not have any ice Cycles for about 2 weeks then 1/2 inch long ice Cycles will start to form hanging under the back of the plastic ice box holding all the ice cubes and under the white medal box with the ice motor and stuff inside of it. The problem is that it finally freezes up the ice and chip motor that goes up and down. When you try to get ice in a glass it just gives you chips. If I take the ice motor box apart, everything in it is rock hard iced up.The ice auger will still turn to get ice out but the cube and chip motor freezes and won’t go up or down. I have no leaky seal problem. It’s like the evaporator heater comes on too long. I timed it and it was on for about 25 minute’s way after all the ice was gone on the coils. Replacing the thermostat limiter timer did not help. Therefore, if the heater stays on to long it can start to melt the ice cubes in the box and tray. I have bought a new control panel for the back. I had already replaced it before 4 years ago due to the refrigerate not cooling. As far as water pressure, I have tried different pressures and it makes no difference. I have looked for any kind of water leak from the ice filler for days, there is none. Let’s see if the control panel works. It is not the thermal misters either.
OLD POST
Back of icemaker freezes up and freezes the icemaker crusher dispenser motor that makes cubes or crushed ice. I have replaced the Defrost limiter thermostat but it came right back. After defrosting the freezer within 2 weeks little ice cycles will form under the back motor cover and under the icebox and then the crusher dispenser motor will freeze up and won’t go up and down. I thought maybe the water coming into the ice tray could be leaking but its not. Could it be that the defrost heater warms up the ice tray and the evaporator fan is not working properly to circulate the air and dry things up before they freeze up again. In about about 2 months I will take the icemaker crusher dispenser motor apart and it is a solid block of ice, where could the water be coming from that makes it all freeze up. The ice tray sits right over this but it is not leaking or is it splashing when filling. When the ice tray is full of ice cubes can the defrost comes on and make condensation under the tray and make it drip before it freezes back up. Is this a sign of a bad evaporator fan? I am now trying a ½ inch insulation board right under the ice tray to shield it from heat when the defrost is on. Everything else works just fine. Freezer stays 0 degrees, fridge stays cold, defrost heater does not build up ice. I replaced the back control module 3 years ago, that is in the back.
