Model Number: 106.54599400 Brand: Kenmore Age: 5 - 10 years
Trying to replace the ice maker as it is not working properly. I replaced the whole ice make with a new part, but it is still not working. The ice make will fill with water and freeze, but will not cycle through and dispense the ice.
I am also trying to remove the wire harness and replace it just incase it is bad for some reason, but I cannot get if remove from the freezer side wall. There is no quick disconnect exposed, nor can I see anyway to remove it. I don't want to just pull the wires and damage anything. Any advice here? Thanks. Ads By Google Related Models |

Hi.
Make sure that the icemaker shot off arm is down. Use insulated wire jumper to jump the T and H test points at the icemaker. Push the door switch, the icemaker should start. If you will have the ice dropped and the freezer temperature is about 0*F - replace the icemaker again. Thank you. Post the results. Simon.

The arm is down. I did jump T and H and it did cycle through. Even without doing that, the ice maker does get water into the tray and properly freezes it. It just never cycles through to actually eject the ice cubes. The icemaker I am using is new, I just installed it. I am wanting to replace the wire harness too, but there is no obvious way to remove it from the freezer wall. There is no clip or anything to push. How do I remove them without damage? Is there anything that would cause the ice maker to not cycle and eject the frozen cubes? Could the wire harness have a blown fuse and possibly cause this? Hi.
The fuse is good or the icemaker wouldn't work at all. Is the freezer temp around 0*F? If it is - replace the icemaker. Simon.

I have replaced the ice maker. I have another one on the way just incase the one I put in is screwed up too.
I will check the temp tonight when I get home. The new ice maker installed right now does get water and seems to be frozen, but just doesn't cycle through and dispense the ice. Everything else in the freezer is frozen too, no problems, but I will get a thermometer from the store tonight and check it. Last edited by kcsims : 09-19-2012 at 11:27 AM. |
