this freezer is giving me two problems. sometimes it fails to defrost. i have replaced the heating element and the bimetal switch. still freezes over. 2nd, when it does defrost the drain line tube and tray all freeze over solid, and then ice begins to form in the bottom of the freezer untill it eventually reaches the door opening preventing the door from closing securly. the drain isint stopped up and there are no restrictions. could this possibly be a design issue? i hate to spend more money trying to get it to defrost if i cant get it to drain off the defrosted water. thanks for your help

Hi.

The main control board located near the compressor is responsible for the defrost initiation. Most likely it's should be replaced Part number: 2313177
Part number: 2313177

The new board should fix the freezing drain problem, but you can also install the drain heater probe Part number: 819043
Part number: 819043

Post the results.

Simon.
