Upright freezer
Model Number: 1068253080 Brand: Kenmore Age: More than 10 years
My freezer was not freezing food completely. Manually defrosted, the lower part of the back was iced over, took the cover off and the coils completely iced. Thawed, cleaned and started again. The temp overnight is only 32-33. The coils are completly iced this again. Would this be the thermostat timer? I tried to look for this on my freezer but can't locate. Please help.

Hi.
Locate the defrost timer behind the bottom grill and slowly turn the shaft CW until the compressor stops. After 5 minutes check if the defrost heater is on. If the defrost starts - replace the timer Part number: 482493 If not - check the bimetal thermostat for continuity Part number: 4387489 Simon.
