Cardboard condenser cover, fiberglass diaper
I cleaned my condenser fan and coils due to high mullion temps. I noticed the fiberglass diaper thing glued to the back is breaking down.
Does anyone know if high density foam will work in it's place? I can't see 25.00 plus shipping for a piece of cardboard. Let me know if I am just being cheap. Thanks, Ed |
The fiberglass is more for sound deadening than anything else.
So you could just remove it. Foam should work but will not do as good a job also may melt if the unit runs hot. You could just get some fiberglass with the foil backing (used to insulate pipes) and glue it to the cover. |
