My fridge fan will periodically stop working. If I turn the cold control knob to off and then back on, everything will return to normal operation again. Is it a start relay or the thermostat? When the unit does properly work, it works as expected.

I did some research and tinkering and concluded that my thermostat is to blame. Ordered a new one and will update when the part comes in.
