Hello,

I hope someone can help, I'd like to save this unit.

SubZero 550, seperate frig and freezer systems. Freezer OK, frig cools only to ~40F. Checked thermostat, it's OK. Compressor runs about 5 minutes, then thermal overload trips, then cycles off/on/off/on at ~ 1 minutes intervals. Compressor draws >2A, my meter only goes to 2A so I can't measure the current. But, I did measure the windings. C to S = 16 ohms, C to R = 8 ohms, S to R = 24 ohms and all 3 to ground are open. From what I've read, these numbers are good, no shorts, yes? Is it possible the compressor is running on the start windings, would this cause overload? Should I just spend $40 and replace both the overload and start relay?
Any help will be very much appreciated!
