Model Number: 25739152990 Brand: Kenmore Age: More than 10 years
Manufactured date 08-99
Over the last week, we have noticed that new items put in the freezer either aren't freezing or are taking a long time to freeze, ice cream goes soft. The frig portion also isn't as cold as normal. Is there anything we can do or do we have to replace it. I am fairly good with tools with good directions. Could it be as simple as adding a can of 134a? Thank you, Steve Ads By Google Related Models |

Hi Steve,
Pull the refrigerator out of the wall. Remove the cover and clean the condenser coils. Make sure the fan next to the compressor works properly. The model number you posted is incorrect. Verify and repost it please. Gene.

The correct model number is 25379152990. I did pull it out earlier today and cleaned in there, didn't notice a fan, but will check again.
It has been running about 3 hours since cleaning, haven't noticed it getting any colder since the cleaning. It was dirty, but I wouldn't consider it horrible. Thank you, Steve |

I just pulled it out again, there isn't any fan in the compartment with the compressor. The compresser is hot to the touch. I can feel air coming out of the freezer vents.
Thank you, Steve |

Remove the rear panel inside the freezer and check how the evaporator coils are covered with frost. Post the results.
Gene.
