Starting about two days ago, the ice maker fill tube on our Amana side-by-side started detaching where it enters the ice maker on the back and top every time the fill cycle starts. Actually, one time it just leaked around the edges of the tube, but the tube pulled out a little bit, and would have come completely off the next cycle.
So there's some sort of blockage, and the water pressure is pushing the tube off. The line doesn't seem to be frozen, and we've had freezing several times over the years and this hasn't happened. The clip that holds the tube still seems strong. There is a 1/2" aluminum cylinder inside the very end of the fill tube, so that may have broken off of something inside, but my current opinion is that it belongs there to keep the tube's shape.
Is it possible to push the tube in too far? Any other ideas? Thanks.
