I am renting a house that has a Kitchenaid refrigerator model #KSRT25CRBL01. The refrigerator works flawlessly. The ice maker will make ice but it fails to dispense the ice. The water dispensor works great. The ice dispensor door will not open. If I force it open the ice will dispense normally. The motor and auger work. There is also a red light flashing in the freezer compartment next to the ice maker on/ off switch. Does anyone have any idea how i can check this out.

Hi Bryan,

Remove the ice door motor and check it as described in the attached files. Post the results.

Gene,
Thanks for the information. I removed the dispenser cover and removed the connector P5 on the core board. I checked the resistance between Pin 1 and pins 2, 3, 5, and 6. All of the readings were between the 45 and 55 ohms. I didn't actually remove the motor will that make a difference? Where can I check next if not.
Thanks,
Bryan

Bryan,

If there is nothing wrong with the motor then the problem is a bad dispenser control board.

What is the complete model number of the refrigerator?

Did you do any troubleshooting before you replaced the motor?
