Model Number: MSD2454GRW Brand: Maytag Age: 5 - 10 years
I have replaced the heater element w/thermostat and defrost timer. Freezer still does not freeze and ice builds up on evap coils quickly. This problem started about 2 weeks after a repairman replaced a relay that failed(recall) - could that have anything to do with it or just a coincidence. what's left to replace? the freezer section is still much colder than the fridge side but not cold enough to freeze anything.

With the freezer cold, turn the defrost timer till compressor turns off. If you get defrost, you have a bad defrost timer, or one that is not running if you failed to install it per directions that came with it.
