Refrigerator & Freezer Repair

my kitchen aid 42" built in refrigerator is 14 years old. Items in the freezer part were slightly thawed and those in the door panel completely thawed out. The refrigerator seems to be cool but not sure cool enough. What could be the problem and were do I start? The model is KSSP42MFW05. The condenser fan is running. The evaporator fan is running and there is a small amount of frost on the very top of the coils.

A model number may help others help you.

Also more info would be helpful.
Is the compressor running? You can usually hear it but it should also be warm and you should be able to feel it vibrating.
Does it run all the time?
Which fans if any are running?
