Have not used it in about 3 years but other fridge stopped cooling. Plugged it in and it runs and cools fine for about 4 hours then trips the gfci in the outlet. I removed the cover at the bottom and made sure it was clean. The compressor seems really warm to me.

Hi.

Please check the model number, the one you posted doesn't come up.

Thank you.

Sorry it's MSD2556AEB....
Also I think that the fan is not coming on so the compressor overheats and trips the gfci. Do you think that could be a cause?

Hi.

Check if the condenser fan motor is running or not. Open the back cover and visually determine that.

Please, post the results.

Simon.

Ok I will check and let you know. Would that be the cause of the gfci tripping?

Hi.

Possible. Also it could be the short in the defrost system. We need to take it step by step.

Thank you. Post the results.

Simon.
