Hello,

I picked up this refrigerator from the previous owner who thought it was broken because it wasn't getting cold enough. After I recharged it with r134, lo and behold it's cold now. For the past 3 days it's been holding steady at 0°F (freezer) / 37°F (fridge). The room that it's in has a temperature of 80-90°F throughout the day.

The problem I'm having is that the compressor does not seem to stop running. It seems to be running all the time. Even if I set the temperature from 0°F / 37°F to 6°F / 47°F, the compressor keeps going. You'd think it would stop, but nope!

By the way the freezer drawer looks normal - there is no frost.

Any idea what the problem could be?

High is +115 psi
Low is +5 psi

With current temperature showing as 0°F (freezer) / 37°F (fridge)

The compressor finally turned off for a defrost cycle. After a few minutes, compressor turned back on.

After about 2 hours of turning on, temperature is starting to raise. 5°F / 42°F. Low side pressure is at -12 (negative) psi, and high side pressure is at +150.

No idea what is going on. Neither side is within spec found here: http://manuals.frigidaire.com/p...f/Anderson/240389646.pdf

Is this a leak?

Was thanked: 2 time(s) in 2 post(s)
The cap line is probably iced up. Did you purge the system, high and low side and change the dryer with a fitting?
