Model Number: TFX27PF Brand: GE Age: More than 10 years
I have a GE Profile TFX27PF from 1997 that is having a problem defrosting. It was defrosting intermittently, but not as often as it should (16hr./35min. timer). I have replaced the timer only to find the problem still exists. When I turn the timer to force a defrost cycle the heaters both come on and after about 35min. the timer works to restart the cooling cycle. I have removed the back inside the freezer to expose the coils and they are still iced up.
Does the "Defrost Control" (WR9X489) or the "Thermostat" (WR50X112) over-ride the timer function? Might I have a low current to the timer problem or a freon charge issue? Thanks for your Help Scott Ads By Google Related Models |
