Greetings all -
Recently noticed that our free standing GE Freezer (model FUF 14DPA RWH) is building layers of ice on the back and bottom. I suspect the evaporation mechanism has failed.

(Note: my skill level with these things is roughly equal to that of, oh...say...coal. Amoeba would be more likely to successfully perform prenatal, inter-cranial brain surgery while piloting the shuttle than I would be at figuring out which end of a screwdriver to use; reading a meter is way over my head, for example).

Seems to me I have two options:
1) Replace evap fans, motherboard, whatever else shiny catches my eye
2) Call in an airstrike (ie: let the professionals loose on it).

Having said all that, my question for this group is: am I on track with the diagnosis? And if so, is are the parts easily field-user-swappable?

Thanks in advance -
S2
