I have a white Maytag side by side refrigerator. The light shield does not stay secure in the back and falls down. I am not sure it there are tabs that are broken on the shield that broken, I can't see any damage. Or the mating part that the shield mounts to is creating the problem. The shield part no. I have been at looking at is:

Shield, Light

Item Number: AP4071074
Manufacturer's Number: 61003924

Please advise and let me know which part I need.

Hi.

There are two L shape tabs at the back one on each side. The cover slides in and locks in front.
You will have to determine your self what is broken or if it's broken at all.

Hello Simon,

Are the two L shape tabs you are referring to on the lamp shield or two seperate parts in the back? I noticed one of the parts on the left side has a tab that looks broken. It seem that is the part that I need to replace. If this is correct what would that part number be?

If the plastic bracket is broken towards the rear you'd have to replace the housing assembly.

AP4069713 is part number.

So the housing assembly (AP4069713) mates with the light shield (AP4071074) and will hold the light shield secure so it does not keep falling down in the back?
