Need help solving a problem. The refrigerator was not cooling and then the flapper for the ice maker start flapping. Then the whole thing just turned off. I hire a Tech and he came out yesterday and replaced the circuit board but he could not reset it in front panel. He charged me alot of money for the circuit board and said sorry just throw the ref away, come on it cost me alot just to do that and he left. I went to ask.com and found the sequence to reset it and the code i needed and it worked but the compressor won't kick in. I have power inside and the fan blowing but no cold air. Could it be the start device or another circuit board?

Hi.

Check if there is 120VAC to the start relay/overload at the compressor.
No voltage - bad control board.
If there is 120VAC, check the continuity of the compressor's 3 pins.
If you have continuity - replace the starting components.

the technician at ASK.COM gave me the wrong code to reset it. I check the model number again the darn code was right below it and it reset itself. Thats the info anyway.
