When the ice maker is in use water freezes near the fan causing noise. Appliance Plus Tech. in Kerrville, Tx. "cut drain slot on the evap. mount plate to keep water off fan blade". Exact description of work performed. The repair was made on 4/9/12. The noise started about a month ago with me pulling the panel in front of fan thawing out for about 5 minutes. The thaw is good for about 8-10 hours. I decided to take the ice-maker out of service (flipping bracket up) to simulate full status. Any advice is appreciated.

Without being there I cannot say what is happening but since it is related to the ice make I can only think of a couple things that would cause this.

The ice make may be overfilling.
Below is the tech sheet with info on how to adjust fill volume.
http://manuals.frigidaire.com/p...f/Anderson/240389636.pdf

Perhaps it is leaking while filling.. Check the fill tube (Item 51 in Section 6) and the inlet (funnel) (Item 19 in Section 6)

Check that when it fill it shuts off correctly. If it keeps dripping and this then overflows I would try replacing the fill valve (Item 55 in Section 6)
