Hello!

I stumbled upon this forum when doing some online searches.

I've had my Kenmore fridge since April 2003. Its had many problems over the years. Its had to be manually defrosted three times due to ice build up in the back, the drains froze up with ice which caused water to trickle down to the fridge when making ice, and the evaporator motor has broken for the 2nd time in 3-4 years, causing the fridge to not get any cold air.

Any idea as to why the motor keeps breaking? Is this common? We did order another one (part W10189703) and will be installing tomorrow night to see if that does the trick again. Hopefully that is it!!!!! Tempted to buy a new one but 9 years doesnt seem like long....And im not overpacking it ever.

If the bushings went bad in the old motor, add oil to the new motor AP3695975. If it blew open, add a 1000 joule surge protector to the wall outlet.

You must use the special oil mentioned as other oils will gum up at freezer temperatures.
