The light switch on my Sub Zero 550 is broken. I ordered a new light switch, but I don't know how to install it. It appears that the old one should just pop out and the new one go right in its place, but it's not that simple. Can anyone help me?

Many light switches require the need to actually disassemble the plastic lining or trim section in the side of the fridge/freezer compartment which the switch is located in... That way you can squeeze the 'dog ears' on the switch body that firmly hold it in place and easily remove it... Trying to pry it out from the front usually will crack the plastic lining so I don't recommend that maneuver... Especially with a Sub Zero, I hear there's some of their models that sell for over $10K... And of course disconnecting the power supply before attempting switch replacement is an absolute must...

I am assuming that you got to the rear of the switches by removing the plastic cover behind the grill. It is held down by a screw on its back side. If so, then press in the tab on the right side of the switch and press the switch down firmly. The switch should pop out on the right hand side. On the left hand side the switch has a small bump, not a tab, so gently hit it with a hammer, or in my case the rear of my flash light. Also, one of the switches is normally off, the other normally on. I’ve forgotten which is which.

Good luck

Thank you very much! I did one switch already, and I'm going to replace the other as soon as it arrives.

I think I have the same problem, but I am not sure which one is the light switch (there are a few "switches" up there behind the grill)?
Can any body point out exactly where the light switch is located?
Thanks so much!
Hans.
