Freezer Too Warm
Model Number: KSSS42FJX00 Brand: Kitchen Aid Age: More than 10 years
Having freezer problem. KA KSSS42FJX00 11 yrs old built in with compressor and condenser on top. Ice cream not hard for one week. Meat rock hard.
Freezer thermometer 4 to 8 degrees F. Varies with control setting. Refrigerator 37 to 41 degrees F. Evaporator fan works. Saw it spinning when removed panel in freezer to see evaporator. Evaporator has some frost on small part of right side only. Compressor hot but I can hold my hand on it for minutes. Condenser dirty but hardly warmer than room temp on the part I can reach. Condenser fan runs all the time. Does not stop. Have not measured anything electrical. Took photos of evaporator, condenser. What problem do I have? Thanks. Ads By Google Related Models

Hi.
Clean the condenser really well and allow 12 hrs for the temperature to stabilize. If that doesn't help - than most likely there is the sealed system problem and you will need a professional assistance. Thank you. Simon.
