It seems the defrost cycle stays on too long. The Ice will melt and the dripping from the Ice will refreeze into ice sickles. On this model is there a separate defrost timer and thermostate or is it integrated into the motherboard? Can you tell me the location of each?

Thanks,
Bill

Defrost timer in the motherboard.
Some things to check. If the freezer fan is on during defrost, change the motherboard AP4436216. If ok, replace the evaporator thermister, round white plastic thing clipped to the evaporator AP3185407 and the thermostat AP3884317 also clipped to the evaporator.
