I'm replacing the condensor fan motor on my Whirlpool fridge. (Appliance Parts Part no. AP3120994/Whirlpool part #833697.) Everything I read says that the fan should spin clockwise, but mine is spinning counter-clockwise. I reversed the wires and it still spins counter-clockwise. The compressor and the condensor coils are both in the same direction - should the fan be blowing air onto the compressor and condensor coils? Or is the fan drawing away even if I don't feel it? Thx.

All these type motors turn counterclockwise viewed from the back. If you use the old fan blade, it must turn in a direction to cup the air and blow it out with "normal" velocity. If not, either your fan blade is bent the wrong way, or it's the wrong blade.

Thanks very much for the info. Just to be sure I understand:

Right now the air is blowing away from the condensor coils and away from the compressor. Is that correct?

In other words, because of the location and position of the fan, the air is being directed against the sidewall of the refrigerator, it is not directly flowing "out." Thanks again for any insight you can lend.

The fan blade must cool the condenser and the compressor, either direction of flow is ok. If the fan blade is not bent and the original one, you are probably ok. A fan blade bent the wrong way will not blow much air.
