![]() Model Number: PSS26SGPASS Brand: GE Age: 5 - 10 years
![]() The GE Side-by-Side Freezer temperature was fluctuating between -7 and +4. The temperature is set at -3. After reading the post from "Gene" 01-23-2012, 07:07 PM "Locate the 3-way valve on the back of the refrigerator (#988 on the diagram). Disconnect the refrigerator from power for about a minute, place a finger on top of the valve, and reconnect power. You should be able to feel the valve vibrate as the coil moves the magnet to the home position." Post location: http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/...406733-freezer I was not able to find the 3-way valve Gene identified...I disconnected the refrigerator (I heard a viberation) for 5 or 10 minutes - reconnected. after 24 hours the range seems to be from -6 to 0. Questions: 1) is this a normal range? 2) Should this "3-way" valve be replaced? (if yes - where is it?...I have looked at the drawings without finding) Thank you in advance for your help - THP Related Models |

2. The thread you are referring to is for a different model number. Not all refrigerators are the same and you have to be more careful when you are looking for any advice. There is no 3-way valve in your refrigerator. What exactly is wrong with your refrigerator besides the temperature issue in the freezer? Gene. Gene.

![]() Gene,
What a pleasant surprise for you to fine this...I had given up, thank you for taking time!!! 1. I found it by doing a "google search"...this is how I found Appliancepartspros.com. 2. To the best of my knowledge, nothing. is wrong other than the wide range of temperatures in the freezer. UPDATE - I have seen the freezer temperature range from -6 to +5 Believe me, I hope this is normal for this refrigerator. Is it? Thank you for your interest and support. thp |

![]() So far I don't see any serious problem with it. The best way to check the temperature is to use a good refrigerator thermometer. It's better than rely on a digital displays.
