Hey everyone.. Probably a basic problem here...just looking for some feedback. Magic Chef fridge/freezer.. not sure of age... just your basic freezer over fridge combo.
Leaking in the kitchen. Source of the leak is copper piping coming from what looks like the black compressor on the bottom. My tenant said that she came home and it was fine.. and then froze back up again.. so continuous leaking-- continuous freeze/defrost/freezing of that coppper pipe. I would imagine that its the opening and closing of the themostat opening and closing which is causing this?
Fridge and Freezer appear to be cooling sufficiently.
Anyway.. what is causing this? Something I can fix? How? Or is it something that really should be left to the pros?
Thanks in advance!!

If there was refrigerant added, it's probably overcharged. If not, you have system problems for a pro to look at. I would check the freezer temperature, should be less than 10 degrees. If ok, I would find some foam insulation for a 5/16 copper pipe and add it, will reduce the frost.

Nothing has been done to the fridge for years. No issues.
Since there was nothing done, bring in a pro?
