I replaced my ice maker in my Kitchenaid freezer yesterday and it still has not produced any ice. No water in tray yet. It's been about 20 hours now. How long does it normally take to produce the first batch?

Hi.

What is the complete model number of the refrigerator and what made you think it's bad icemaker?

Thank you.

Simon.

Refrig model# KSRP25FNBC00

The tray would always fill up with water and cubes would be frozen. The cubes would be normally be ejected from the tray. Normal operation would occur for 3-4 days and then it would go several days without ejecting the frozen cubes.

Hi.

Check the water valve by switching around solenoid plugs and pressing the water lever at the dispenser.
If the icemaker fills up - then it's ether bad icemaker, loose connection or the optic controls.

Make sure that the control on the right is on. Check the attached file for optics test.

Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for Whirlpool KSRP25FNBL00 REFRIGERATOR | AppliancePartsPros.com

Thank you.

Simon.

So..old ice maker would make ice. Problem was that is would only eject it occasionally. Replaced with new ice maker, and new one won't even make ice! Help...

Hi.
Try to switch the icemakers. Make sure the optic control is ON.

OK - New Ice Maker finally made some ice cubes more than 36 hours after installation. The ejector arm has rotated to the vertical 12 o'clock position and has not moved beyond that position for several hours and has not ejected the ice. Any ideas???

Put in the old ice maker and see what is going on.
