no power to fan motor
Model Number: gc5shehexnt00 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 - 10 years
Fan motor runs briefly then shuts down and then compressor over heats and middle panel between fridge and freezer gets very hot

I could not find "gc5shehexnt00 ", please check it.
I did find GC5SHEXNT00 and the following is for that unit. Here are your parts Replacement parts for Whirlpool GC5SHEXNT00 REFRIGERATOR | AppliancePartsPros.com See the attachment for the tech sheet. Could be the fan or the control board.

I think that is the one referring to. How easy is it to replace? Click on the boards picture (Item 19 in Section 12) and a new page will open with a Q&A section that should help. Be sure to unplug the unit when doing this. I know this seems like a rather obvious suggestion but you would be surprised how many people forget to do this.
