The freezer on my maytag MTB1954DR refrigerator is blowing air - not cold enough to freeze food or keep frozen food frozen. I don't think the refrigerator is so cold either. The other day I think I left the freezer slightly ajar for a few hours.

Hi.

Open the evaporator cover and check if the evaporator coils are blocked with snow. Also check if the air ducts are clogged.
If that what it is - it could be because you left the freezer door open or there is the defrost system failure.
Unplug the fridge for 24 hrs with the doors open and then restart it.
Monitor the temperature. If the problem will return - then it's the defrost and we'll deal with it later..

Post the results.

Simon.
