Model Number: GSS2SKSW/GSKSKGW Brand: GE Age: 1 - 5 years
We currently have a GE Refrigerator that stopped cooling. It appeared that the back of the freezer was a solid frozen piece of ice. We defrosted the unit and dried it out. When we plugged it back in the fan sounded like it was hitting the plastic cover in the freezer. If we lift up slightly it will stop and blows semi cool air. Any ideas on what is wrong?

Hi.
You need to adjust the motor, the blade and the cover so nothing will be touching. Then monitor the temperature for 24hrs and get back to us. Thank you. Simon.

We took out the gears for the Ice maker and lifted up on the fan cover. Temp is down to normal now. We put coil cover back on (all coils cold but top two) tried to put back in the gears for the ice maker and it pushes down on the fan cover. We will have decided to leave out the gears for the ice maker (since the Ice maker doesn't work anyways). Thanks for the advice! Our fridge is back from the dead.
