I have a Whirlpool refrigerator model # ER2CHMXPB03 S/N ET0801300. It appears that it is not defrosting properly. The freezer ices over and then the freezer/refrigerator gets warm. If I manually defrost it then it is ok for a couple of days but then the process repeats itself. Can you guide me in the right direction as to what parts I may need (heater , thermostat), their part numbers, and possibly how to check them? I would greatly appreciate your help

Hi.

Locate the defrost timer inside the control panel at the top in the fresh food.
Use the flat screw driver to turn the timer's shaft CW very slowly until the unit stops.
Waite for 10 min than open the freezer and check if the defrost heater came on.
If it's on - replace the timer.
If not - check the defrost thermostat and heater for continuity. The thermostat must be ice cold. If you find any of this parts "open" - replace that part.

Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for Whirlpool ER2CHMXPB03 REFRIGERATOR | AppliancePartsPros.com

The defrost timer Part number: 2314156
Part number: 2314156

The heater Part number: W10140847
Part number: W10140847

The defrost thermostat (bi-metal) Part number: 2321800
Part number: 2321800

Thank you. Post the results.
