I have a Maytag top freezer refrigerator. The ice maker water tube had to be replaced due to a leak, however I let it sit broken for about 6 or 8 months. When I finally replaced it, the ice cubes it made tasted bad. I waited about a week, continuing to make ice and throw it out and still it tasted bad. I have researched to find if this model has an ice filter and I do not find one. Do I need to replace the whole ice maker? Or is there a less expensive resolution.

Is it possible, it might be the water valve? Is that easy to be replaced. I am a DIYer. Thanks
