I bought this unit new in 2002. Side by side. Moved the unit to the garage recently, where the ambient temp gets high in the day. The unit seems to have a thermal over load & the compressor shuts off, but resets after cooling down. While gone for extended period of time recently, all food in freezer had thawed & food in fridge was cool. Unplugged unit for 1 hour, plugged in & compressor started. Weak overload or simply ambient temp issue? I also have a full size freezer in the same location with no issues. Thanks

Check the compressor, if very hot, clean the condensing coils. If clean, check the condensing motor. If ok, check the motherboard in the back behind the cover AP4436216, may have bad solder joints on the back.
