kenmore fridge has stopped the light stills comes on when opening the door but the fridge and freezer are not getting cold and the pump is not kicking on ?

If everything besides the interior lights is dead, then most likely the refrigerator stuck in the defrost mode.

Locate the shaft on the defrost timer (#23 on the break down diagram) and slowly turn it CW.

If, after it clicked, the compressor kicked on then the defrost timer is bad and has to be replaced.

- The part number for the defrost timer is AP2111929

Gene,
Well i tried turning the deforst timer and it did click as you said but nothing happened i tried several times but nothing i think the darn fridge is all done i don't know.Any other ideas ?

Try to bypass the cold control (aka thermostat).

If it would not help then probably the compressor is bad.
