My Jenn Air fridge is not cooling on the fridge side but is fine on the freezer side. It does seem to have too much ice on evap. The fan is working also. I read previous post about defrost controls, but it didn't say how to check one with a defrost control board. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Here are your parts Replacement parts for Jenn-Air JSD2789GES REF - SXS/I&W | AppliancePartsPros.comIt does seem to have too much ice on evap. For it to cause problems it has to be thick enough to prevent the evaporator fan from pulling air through the evaporator coils. The problem will show up first in the fresh food side and later in the freezer. The compressor will run continuously. Forcing a defrost cycle. 1. Disconnect the unit from the power source. 2. Open the fresh food door and remove any items on the top shelf. 3. Remove the light shield and the temperature control housing. 4. Make sure compressor is running (cold control closed). 5. Using an insulated jumper wire short between L1 and Test; this will put the refrigerator into a defrost for approximately 23 minutes. Note: If the temperature control is open (unit not running and you jumper L1 and Test) the unit will cycle through the test mode in two seconds. |
