The last couple of years our Kenmore side-by-side ice maker fill tube would occasionally freeze. I would thaw and all would be good. Now its doing it daily so no ice will form.

Any suggestions? It is a pretty old model made in 1992.

Hi.

You need to replace the water inlet valve. For the correct part number please provide complete model number.

Thank you.

Simon.

I installed the new valve and now I'm not getting water to the ice maker. Any thoughts of what I could have done wrong? It seemed to be a really easy install.

Hi.

Did you defrost the inlet tube?

Yes sir. Its defrosted. It doesn't seem like water is flowing from the valve to the ice maker anymore.

Switch around the electrical plugs at the water valve's solenoids and push the water lever at the dispenser.
If the ice maker starts filling up - than the ice maker is also bad.
The ice maker Part number: 4317943
Part number: 4317943

Thank you.

Simon.
