Model Number: KSSS42QDW03 Brand: Kitchen Aid Age: More than 10 years
My refrigerator doesn't cool. I had a repair person charge the coolant because it was empty. When power was restored the compressor wouldn't start. The compressor makes a single clicking noise but doesn't start up. Ddes this mean the compressor is bad or is their a component that must be replaced such as a starter or relay for the compressor or something else?"

Hi.
The compressor's 3 prongs need to be checked for continuity. If that checks OK, then the relay/overload should be replaced. The relay Part number: 819100 Here are the breakdown diagrams and Upper unit replacement parts for Whirlpool KSSS42QDW03 BUILT-IN REFRIGERATOR | AppliancePartsPros.com Thank you. Simon.
