Kenmore runs but won't restart on it's own
Model Number: 1068580280 Brand: Kenmore Age: More than 10 years
side by side , new 7/88 runs and cools fine , but after a couple on/off cycles , I have to turn off and back on I guess resetting it , for the next few hours. Being it's 24 yrs old is it worth fixing ? looks and works great otherwise ! Thanks for any help !! Rick

Hi.
It's still a good refrigerator. See if we can fix it. In the fresh food section locate the control panel.on the right side underneaths locate the opening less then dime size and using flat screw driver turn the defrost timer shaft CW slowly till you hear the click. At this point if the fridge will come on - replace the defrost timer. The defrost timer Part number: 482493 If not - replace the cold control Part number: 2198202 Thank you.Post the results. Simon.
